Transcript: It is an interdependent world.

Hi. I’m Simon Madden. I’d like to talk to you today about interdependence. When we’re growing up, we’re taught about being independent, about looking after ourselves and having skills that we can do by ourselves, which is very important.

But in the workplace, in the workforce, we have to be interdependent. Each part of the organization is reliant on other parts of the organization. Sales staff can’t get by without the administration staff. The administration staff can’t get by without logistics, et cetera, et cetera.

What you have to be really aware of in your workplace is how interdependent you are on your other people, how that works, and how you can help each other in your workplace with that interdependence. About working together as one team. Working together to get the outcome that you really need.
