Transcript: Do you have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset?

As a leader, do you have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset? In your organisation, do your people have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset? Think back to the two mindsets you start with. It’s a bit more complex than that, but basically, a fixed mindset is you’re fixed in your position. What happens in the world around you, you have no say. You’re fixed in your position and it affects you. A growth mindset is you’re here, but if you travel, if you educate yourself, you inform yourself, you meet people, you can grow.

For a sport’s person, which do you think is the right mindset? Just be fixed and can’t do anything or should I be able to improve myself? Should I be able to grow? For a performer, for an artist, are they just fixed in their position or should they actually work on improving and growing?
